The Boynton’s Beer Range Naturally brewed, Proudly Porepunkah! Boynton’s Lager (4.5% Alc/vol) A refreshing lager that shows style and refinement. Our draught beer, this premium golden brew is designed for the true lager lover. Since adding beer to the experience here at Boynton’s, we have seen a strong local demand for a refined Australian style premium lager. It was decided that we needed to find the perfect style of the great Aussie amber fluid and to serve it cold, on tap. Boynton’s Lager is produced from all Australian pale pilsener malts, a blend of barley varieties from three states, and malted in Victoria. For a touch of class and more up-market appeal it incorporates two New Zealand hop varieties; Super Alpha, rich in bittering compounds, and Southern Cross, a refreshing hint of sweet floral sandalwood aromas with a great classic draught beer flavour. Boynton’s Ale (4.5% Alc/vol) This is very much a hop-driven beer based upon the American Pale Ale style. Though a striking burnt orange colour, its predominant characteristic is citric hop bitterness and aroma. This is obtained through triple hopping. Pride of Ringwood at start, Amarillo for the added citrus kick and Cascade for aroma. The combination of fermentation esters and volatile hop components combine to give a barrage of fruit flavours until the bitterness kicks in and leaves the palate cleansed. This medium to high level of bitterness gives the beer an assertive quality which is ideal for matching with food, especially Asian or chilli-inspired dishes. Boynton’s Pilsener (4.5% Alc/vol) A beautiful golden colour (reminiscent of an historical brewing experiment in Plzen, Czechoslovakia generations ago) and made here with luscious Australian malt. This is a medium weight, dry hoppy lager with distinctive bitterness – great for summer enjoyment. A light to medium bodied, medium flavoured lager the pilsner is lovely with Vietnamese dishes such as salt and pepper squid. Boynton’s Driver’s Light (3.0% Alc/vol) Generally microbreweries tend to not produce low alcohol beers as they're very difficult to get right. Light beers are sometimes described as lacking body because alcohol contributes a lot to mouthfeel. Boynton’s Drivers, though, is a full-bodied brew. A touch of roasted raw barley brings out the golden colour of the brew, and contributes to a slightly drier finish, which improves drinkability. The hop, Saaz, has been generously added, resulting in a bitter, spicy style of light. It shows in the aftertaste and aroma, slightly citric and a bit peppery. We are sure that all beer drinkers will appreciate our efforts.
