Cabernet Sauvignon - Boyntons Winery

Cabernet Sauvignon 2004

This is a wonderful example of cool climate Cabernet at its best. Earthy and complex it oozes ripe blackberries and black cherry fruit. Developed cigar box character and vanillin oak mingle pleasantly with nuances of cloves and star anise. Elegant texture and oak integration.

Drink now or cellar for many years. The wine Kel Boynton is renowned for!

A very attractive Cabernet which doffs it’s cap to the great wines of Bordeaux. Earthy and complex it oozes ripe blackberries and black cherry fruit. Developed cigar box character and vanillin oak mingle pleasantly with nuances of cloves and star anise.

Reviews

The Border Mail, Friday November 16, 2007

SHOWING the best that the Alpine Valleys can do, this is a fine, elegant wine but one that is also generous and complex.
My tastings are always blind and this wine presented especially well.
Cool climate cabernet can be lean and mean but this is how it should be!
ageing: drink until 2015
RATING: **** 1/2
IN A WORD: excellent
