North East Valleys
Boyntons Feathertop Winery is situated within the geographical indicator (GI) of the Alpine Valleys. The greater region is known as the North East Valleys.
The region is well known for its extensive diversity of food and wine varieties.
Extending from Victoria's snowfields to the Murray River, covering the Alpine Valleys, Beechworth, Glenrowan, King Valley and Rutherglen wine regions, this system of Mountains, Valleys and rivers sets the scene for an inspirational food and wine experience.
Where else in the WORLD can you see five GI’s in a day?
With the extraordinary climatic conditions and natural landscape, it provides an amazing canvas for growing wines.
The North East Valleys produce some of the states finest ingredients, with chestnuts and walnut groves, asparagus, olives, citrus, mustards, breads, berries (just across the road from us) not to mention wonderful wines.
Seasonal….. this region boasts four distinct seasons, summers are hot, winters cold (snow capped mountains), with the added warm breezes of Spring and the spectacular fall of colour in Autumn.
The temperature variations between day and night and the four seasons that characterize this continental climate, provide ideal growing conditions for grapes. This area, with its authentic characters and welcoming farm gates and natural beauty is a must to visit.
